The Rub of Compassion

What if we all walked around in a bubble of compassion? What if when we brushed up against each other, the rub of compassion would create static sparks that zinged across our bubble and ricocheted into the bubble of another and then jetting back to us piercing our bubble and filling our heart with compassion?

This can and does happen when we set our intent to be active participants in the Way of Compassion.  Let’s begin:

Find a quiet place and focus on your breathing.  Don’t shift it…just attend to it.  Envision your breath entering your crown…flowing down your head…through your neck…into your body.  With each successive inhale, your breath moves more deeply into your body.  Relax into your body’s warmth.

When you are relaxed, envision compassion beginning to flow into you…notice the color of your compassion…notice what it feels like…allow your breath to draw this compassion into and through your body…you overflow with compassion…compassion begins to flow from the palm of your hands…the soles of your feet…your eyes.  Compassion forms a permeable membrane of a bubble.  Compassion seeps from your pores.  Compassion fills the bubble that surrounds you.

The bubble is filled…rest in the energy of compassion…with compassion, intend that no matter what touches the membrane — light or dark — will be transformed in to joy-filled compassion and return to the other compassionately.

Go through your day rubbing compassion on everyone you see.
