2023: Dancing in the Middle Ground

Listen. Magic is in the air. A stillness is in the moment. Can you hear a quiet guiding whisper? It’s an invitation to surrender into the New Year. Let go of the what-ifs. Waltz into the new. This is a reminder that when we cling to the what-ifs, we miss the what-might-be’s. Those what-might-be’s are only accessible in the moment.

To get to that place of alignment with the what-might-be’s is no easy task. We all know that life is filled with the beauty of uncertainty. It is filled with joy and suffering, regrets and celebrations, the what-if and the what-is. If we spend so much time on looking behind us, we are not able to move forward. When we focus on what catches us, we are caught in spiral of pain and suffering.

But, this year does not have to be THAT year. 2023 is a year of dancing in the middle ground. To name what we want and then navigate through the uncertainty and around those pesky boulders and pebbles. To be flexible and courageous enough to shift in ways that have us living into our truth.

We don’t have to look past the distractions or let our self be caught on the briars of what-ifs. We can choose to stand in the moment of what-might-be balanced and aware. With courage and curiosity we can take one step and another and another — not to hurry into the future but to relish the time as we move into the evolving moments.

With each step we create the foundation of what-will-be. Although this foundation is built upon the stones of resolutions, aspirations, intentions, we can’t stop with them. Name them while  embracing what unfolds in each moment. Only in in the now do we notice what we are doing to manifest the seemingly little things that will bring us closer to those  resolutions, aspirations, intentions.

So, today, I challenge you to dance into each moment ready to experience whatever life offers. Know that within each moment is an invitation to live from your core and be the person you know you are.

Blessings for a phenomenal 2023

2022: The Year of the Self

A message for the New Year: Lots of clearing this year. Don’t hold tight to anything but the truth at your core.

This year is about you letting go of what prevents you from being your true self. This is a year to focus on YOU — not in a selfish, self-centered way that excludes everyone else, but in a way that connects you to your core. This is your year to become strong in who you are; to shine your best self into the world. To clear the way to the truth of your core.

The really cool thing? When you connect to your core, your relationships with others, the sacred, and all of creation become better. They really do. When you show up as your best self, you encourage others to do the same. Win-Win.

Committing to a year of self isn’t as difficult as it sounds. Breathe. Remember you have twelve months, 52 weeks, 365 days. Okay, so you have fewer days and a week less now…but you’ve got all the time that you need to strengthen the connection to your core.

Never forget that life is an ebb and flow. During this year, you’ll have moments when you truly connect. Moments, well, when you feel disconnected.  Moments when you aren’t even aware of a connection. Whatever you feel is perfectly okay. A lot of awarnesses happen on the path to strengthening your core.

How do you begin this journey to self? First, be aware that you have always been on this journey. Own your journey no matter where you find yourself.

Then, try this. Get into a quiet space. Breathe through the moment. Ask your breath to flow to your core. Become part of the flow.  Ride your breath to your core. Once at the core, notice. Use all your senses. Get a clear picture — create it based upon what you sense: hear, see, smell, taste, feel what is at the core.

You can ask these questions: Does my core have a particular color or colors? A texture? Something else? Then, notice whatever calls to you. Create a picture of what you see. This image can be a word description or a visual image. Remember this is your year, create in ways that work for you.

Next, celebrate using these questions (and others if they come to you). What do I like about me? How do I more easily connect to my core? Recall times when you liked yourself and when you connected to the core.

Be with this knowing. Celebrate your connection to this wonder part of you. Celebrate the person that shines forth from the core. Celebrate YOU!

Add this celebration to your visual or word drawing.

Then ask: What do I yearn for? How would I like things to be different? Just be with whatever arises.

Add your yearnings to the drawing.

Maybe what you discovered makes you uncomfortable. Maybe it fills you with exhilaration. Maybe you feel a little bit of both. You are a journey of awareness of your self. A wild wonderful trek that grounds you into the incredible you. Let’s take this journey to self together. Ready. Set. Manifest.

Illusion vs. Reality: Creating The Life You Want

Have you ever been so fatigued that you were  stuck in stasis? The changes you wanted to make seemed so out of reach that you shelved them for another day? Maybe you just needed a booster shot of hope and belief in yourself to move from fatigue into a festival of hope.

2020 — a new decade filled with new possibilities. For several weeks emails have dropped in my inbox that highlight the potential in this new decade. All signs point to the 2020s being a time to step out of illusion of who you believe yourself to be and into the reality of who you truly are. The next step is to join your light with others to illuminate hope in the world.

I know that you are tired. So am I. Sometimes it seems impossible to shuffle out of the shadows and relight our spark. We may not like where we are, but it is familiar. We are stuck in the illusion of it might not be what we want, but it is okay until something happens. That happening makes it more difficult to remain in stasis. It becomes easier to change. We find the energy to take one tiny step into our truth.

How can we let go of our illusions and take that step? Start small. Acknowledge one belief that limits you. It doesn’t matter how inconsequential it may seem, name it. Own it. Ask yourself, if it were not true, what would you do differently?

For one day, live as if the illusion is a lie. Then live your differently. At the end of the day, reflect on the illusion and any light that was shed on its fallacy. As the days turn to weeks, continue to dig into the illusion and live with the gusto of differently until the illusion no longer has a hold on you.

Dispelling illusions seldom happen overnight. It takes time to change beliefs into a system that best reflects who you are. With each illusions banished, we place another tile on the bridge to living our truest self. Creating this way of life offers us not a quick fix solution, but opportunity upon opportunity to fulfill our soul purpose.
